What our Students and Parents are Saying

Ms Carrie is our "Blessing"! As a homeschooling Momma of 7 (3 have graduated) and music being a focal point of our family, we found ourselves without a piano teacher for 2 years. We prayed diligently for a teacher that could meet multiple needs. Carrie was that answer. She was able to quickly assess our more advanced and intermediate students and correct any previous "bad habits". Her vast knowledge of quality music and technique has pushed these students to new heights. Carrie bravely stepped into teaching our daughter with Autism/ADHD and behavioral issues as well. As apprehensive as I was, Carrie quickly relieved my fears. She worked with my daughter until she could sit for her 30 min sessions. Carrie consistently rewarded her efforts with fun visuals and games. If our daughter was seemingly having a bad day or meltdown, Carrie patiently and gently encouraged her until she responded with smiles and giggles. In less than a year, this gal willingly practiced daily, excited to show her progress the next week. And, if that wasn't enough, Carrie took on our youngest son as a new student last year (2020). We have seen wonderful progress in his desire and ability. Carrie never moves on until each student has mastered each step. She has consistently worked with our schedules, winter weather, and family emergencies. Her Zoom classes never lack the same enthusiasm she shares in her in personal teaching as well. All this being said, our family couldn't recommend anyone more highly than Ms Carrie.
Carrie has been teaching our first grader since August. He loves his piano lessons and Carrie makes the lessons fun while not wasting time! She has a good ear and can tell if he is playing the wrong notes which is perfect for zoom piano lessons. We have loved her teaching and would absolutely recommend her as a piano teacher!!
We are nearing three years of online piano lessons with Carrie. Over the years Carrie has remained a consistently patient and caring teacher. She is always prepared with a little fun way to motivate my nine year old daughter and she has been so flexible with us through sickness, family visits and other things that life throws our way. Even though we live in the UK, Carrie has managed to give us a great time slot that works for all parties. Lastly and most practically, I love not having to leave our home for this lesson. Many other things pull us in different directions so when we can stay home and have a lesson from the comfort of our piano chair it is a blessing. Carrie is a gifted pianist and I'm thankful she is using her gift to teach the next generation.
I am very grateful to be able to take hymn playing lessons from Carrie. It has been many years since taking classical piano lessons, so it has been quite a process to transition to playing hymns congregational style. Carrie has been very helpful in this process with her patient & caring approach to teaching. She always provides encouragement and incite into how to become skillful in this new area. Carrie has an intuitive way to help me understand music theory concepts and apply them to improvising with hymns. It is a wonderful blessing to be working with Carrie!
My first thought was “Remote video lessons. How does that work?” However, I know Carrie personally, so we wanted to give her a chance. I’m glad I did! Carrie not only holds my son’s attention; she sees and corrects his hand position and posture. And brings him back when he ‘drifts’ out. I could go on and on but I’ll stop at this: “Remote piano lessons. They work!” If you still have hesitations, Carrie offers a free first lesson so give her a chance! She’s worth it.
My daughter absolutely loves taking piano lessons from Carrie! She is very compassionate and also patient with my younger learner. We could not be happier!
